I live in the shadows, that place between light and dark. I can live in obscurity without being in total darkness. I can move into the light but retreat when I become too exposed. It is the place that I feel most at home. Always wishing to be in the light, but only safe in the shadows.

Shadow Reflection

Now this is neat. I caught it while taking my son for a haircut. The picture captures the reflection of my shadow on the floor of the shop. Fascinating!

Untitled

I think this picture is beautiful, as a result of its complexity. It combines shadow, the pattern and texture of the hallway, the lighting off of both metal and wood. I think it is spectacular.

Boo!

I LOVE this pic! I took this at the convention Centre in Quebec City. The angle of the sun allowed me to capture the picture of the wolf surprising its own shadow and jnmping on its back. What a surprise for the shadow!

Summary

I took this in my hotel room. I thought this did a great job of helping define how I feel/who I am. Partially obscured by shadow...moving in and out of the light.

Pine Tree Shadow (not!)

It is easy to think of shadows as being a day event, but I love night shadows and this is a great reason why. At first glance, the shadow of a pint tree, but take a closer look. The "trunk " is actually a buttress of an old building. The branches of the tree are actually coming from two cedars, one on each side, imposed through the flood lights on the ground. Two trees and a buttress coming together to make one tree.

Red Shadow

Orange streetlight. Red cobblestone. Cool shadow.

Candle Shadows

Sent to me by a friend, this video is incredibly beautiful. Aside from the obvious beauty of the flickering shadows, I particularly love the dimmer shadows higher up. They remind me of paper when it is singed, slowly being eaten by the paper embers, like rust eating iron.

Shadow Ford

As I rounded the bend on the highway, the setting sun behind me, my little rent-a-car produced a BIG shadow. I thought that was neat.

Shaow Blinds

Looking at all the pictures I have taken, the one place that I still find that I love so much are my bedroom blinds. The moving cedars always provide interesting patterns in the window and on the walls

Evil Shadows

Satan's daughters. Nuff said :)

Shadow Web

I love the stained glass like effect of the shadows produced by the surrounding trees. Nice.

Ceiling Shadows

Shadows on the dining room ceiling produced by the chandelier. Gothic!

Shadow Poplar

My old nemisis, the poplar. But I am making peace with the poplar and the shadows in the leaves just seemed to make it softer and easier to love :)

Riverbank Shadows

The mottled shadows of trees over a riverbank

Carport Shadow

This shadow was caused by my car door. When I swung it open in the carport, the reflection of the sun off the door broke the shadow. But the neatest part is the shadow with in the reflection. The ripple shadow effect was caused by the light being filtered by the dirt on my car window.

Shadow Projector

I love the blue spotlight effect that creates this shadow. Another extra-terrestrial looking vehicle. I love the Universal Projector!

Shadow Projector

The shadow of the universal projector at the planetarium. Coupled with the row lights, look like an actual spaceship.
